Losing web preferences after a reboot

After any reboot of my vista system, I am losing certain preferences and have
to re-enter them again. For example, on TVguide.com, I lose my location,
grid settings,
display preferences, etc. On wunderweather.com, I lose my saved cities.

Not all my preferences are lost, such as signon info such as user names and
passwords. I am not erasing cookies for the affected sites, so what is
erasing
this information on boot up?
