Greetings Frazer,
They're probably displaying off the visible "screen".
To fix, when a conversation window "opens", right-click its taskbar button in the taskbar,
and if the 'Restore' option *isn't* grayed out, click it. Then press alt-space on the
keyboard and choose Move. Now just use the arrow keys to move the window back into focus of
your screen.
