you might try
running the
command at
the disk prompt>:

bootcfg /rebuild

launch the repair/
recovery console and
it will get you to the
prompt.

Vista and Vista SP3/Win7 use a different boot loader configuration than XP.
As long you have the three OSes installed on separate bootable partitions
then you should be able to restore the Vista boot loader by using either the
Vista or Win 7 installer to fix the boot manager.
If you can get hold of a copy of Vista Boot Pro and install it under XP that
program may be able to identify the Vista and Win 7 installations and offer
them as options when you boot.

Did you look under the couch? That's where I always
find stuff when I lose it. Especially shoes and boots and
slippers.

Installing Windows XP has over-written the Vista/Windows 7 boot loader. Try
using the startup repair options on the Windows Vista/Windows 7 DVD. You
might also check out this link from my website:
http://www.winuser.co.uk/windows_vis...ing_vista.html.
Pay particular attention to the section marked VistaBootPro.

Hi Ted--

In addition to using Easy BCD or Vista Boot Pro as described, you might be
able to fix it by using a Vista DVD, and if you don't have one, you can use
this Disk as a Startup repair disc and from the command prompt on the
startup repair menu, as was described above, run the 3 switches (even though
the /Rebuildbcd might do it)

Download Vista Repair Disk
http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/window...disc-download/

The menu I refer to is in this set of directions with a grey background.

http://vistahomepremium.windowsreins...airstartup.htm

Those are:

bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuild BCD

Good luck,

CH

Andy--

Nice work. I'm familiar with bootsec /nt60 etc. but if you have references
for the detail in this, I'd appreciate seeing them.

Thanks,

CH
