Lost favorite Favorites Folder

Hi all
Last night I defragged my hard drive. This morning I discovered that I
have lost one of my favorite 'Favorites' folders. I found the folder in
'Search'. How do I move it back to Internet Explorer, Favorites?
It's a Windows Me OS; I don't know which edition of IE it is, & an HP
desktop w/ an 800mhz Celeron CPU. I tried to open both 'Search' & IE
Favorites windows side by side & drag & drop, but I don't know where to
drop it.

Also due to my ignorance, I've so seriously screwed up, crashed, burned
& lost stuff on computers, that I'm terrified of this type of thing.

Your help deeply appreciated, John

PS. This is the 1st time that defragging has caused the loss of
anything that I'm aware of

Oh, BTW if there is a better resource that this group for this
question, please suggest it.

Wow! I'm discovering several 'Favorites' have been removed. Why would
that be?

No one knows. It doesn't seem to happen often enough or consistently
enough for anyone to try to diagnose it.
