i have a laptop with vista home basic installed, i recently bought a 1t
buffalo HD-CEU2 external hardrive, i simply plugged it in and starte
transfering a large number of files to it without running th
installation software that came with it, i also didnt convert it fro
fat32 to ntfs, after a week all the fies in one of the folder
disappeared and it said it now registered 0 bites, when there was
about 1gb of stuff in there, the file wouldnt delete, but coud b
renamed, later scandisk deleted it, about 3 weeks ago all the fies o
the drive disappeared, the drive read empty except for a file listed a
a EU2 file named after the drive, but the drive still read as been 800g
ie the almost 200gb of files were still in there somewhere, i ran th
installation software that came with the drive and during th
installation converted it to ntfs and once completed all the files cam
back, then 2 weeks ago it stopped alowing me to enter the drive by doub
clicking on the icon on the desktop or going through my computer, i
woud open if you right clicked and chose explore, then on sunda
afternoon it happened again all the file disappeared replaced by th
singe EU2 file, but the drive still says almost 200gb has been used, no
though it will alow me to access by doube cicking on the icon, also th
drive has renamed itsef as Local Disk E: when previously it was liste
as HD-CEU2 everywhere, it also says it is now fat32 again, als
previously when you tried to safey remove hardware, it wouldnt let yo
saying the device was still in use, but now it alows you to safel
remove it, pleas tell me how to get bak these files i do have some o
