Lost Hard Disk Space - XP2

To all who can help,
I donwloaded and installed xp2 and the usual happened, my pc got stuck
in a restart loop until i managed to uninstall xp2. When I managed to do that
I lost almost all my files and Windows settings went to default. The problem
I have now is that out of a 40GB hard drive I am only actually using less
than 10, but My computer says I have 200 Megs left only. Theres nothing else
I can possibly delete and I want my hard disk space back but have no idea
where its all gone. If anyone has any clue as to what I can do without
actually reinstalling Windows I would be very very grateful.

There are specific steps that need to be taken before you install Service
Pack 2. These are detailed on the Windows Update website. You are probably
screwed. Some of the old-timers here may be able to help, but your issue
sounds terminal to me. Sorry, and good luck!
