HELP! I've managed to change the permissions on the "my music" folder, and my
iTunes are not in that folder. There is only sample music in it. I've lost
thousands of songs, podcasts, video downloads, etc. I have approx 290 songs
in my iTunes now, and can't seem to locate the rest of my music. I've
searched all the music or iTunes folders I could find, and still come up with
nothing. I upgraded from XP to Vista, which was probably a mistake. I just
want my music back! Can anyone suggest something? THANK YOU!!!

If you upgraded to Vista from XP, you will have a Windows.old folder and
your music should be in there. And for goodness' sake, get busy and create
and implement a backup strategy. I can't believe you did something as huge
as upgrade to a different operating system without backing everything up
first anyway.

you can search for mp3 or m4a. make sure you do go into advance search and
search non-indexed locations also.
