lost mail

I am wonderding if any one else as had this experience, if I'm on the net and
then in bottom right corner, e.g. I see Joe Brown has sent an email,ten after
atime I g to check mail, there is no message there from Joe Brown, this has
happened about four times lately. Also when opening live mail, it will sa I
have five emails at the bottom when in fact there is only one. Any imput
would be appreciated Thanks

Does your term 'live mail' mean Windows Live Mail or Windows Live Hotmail ?
Windows Live Mail current version ?
Windows Live Messenger installed ?

Are the messages present when you access the receiving account's web interface ?
Are the messages present in the web interface Junk Mail folder ?
If using Windows Live Mail is it configured to auto-delete Junk Mail rather than deliver to the Junk Mail filter ?
