You don't need a CD-ROM, it can be downloaded from the webby.
You need to identify your computer model and if a model purchased
with everything preinstalled and setup to go, then goto the OEM's
site and click the support and locate the model, identify from the
site what the audio device is for your computer.
It could be an on-board chipset intergrated into the MoBo, or
a PCI soundcard.
Once identified it is easy to find the right driver, if you have a big
brand name computer from one the established crowd, you will
find it listed on their site under downloads.
If you have a laptop or budget desktop, it may be the Realtek
chipset which is s simple self-installing driver+package, or if a
soundcard then a download from either the OEM's support
site or from the site of the manufacturer of the soundcard.
But you need to identify the audio device, or at least the brand
and model number of your computer.
