I have 3 machines behind a LinkSys router. 2 have the latest updates as of
7/12 applied. Since applying this update They no longer get their IP
addresses from the router and their internet connection is lost. The 1
machine without the last hotfix/security update is the only one that can get
out.

What Happened?

Problem seems to relate to DHCP. Once I assigned static IPs to the machines
with the updates I've regained my connections. Lynksys router is funtioning
properly but windows boxes are not getting their IPs via DHCP.

On each of the affected machines, Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Network Connections,
delete the "Local Area Connection", and double-click the Network Setup Wizard to create a new
Local Area Connection.

It was probably update KB898461 that killed the connection.
