I think I stumbled on the solution to this. My outlook.pst file was almost 2
gigabytes. My son changed the name and made a new outlook.pst file and
outlook started working. Even after that Comcast had so many backlogged
e-mails that every time I tried to download them outlook froze. However,
eventually trying all day I was able to get the mail downloaded and now
outlook is working properly.
It appears that my outlook.pst file had gotten too large and on attempting
to download the backlog of mail due to changeover from one service to another
it locked up the program.
Simple solution to a really aggravating problem. Hope this solution will
help someone else. I have received the notices that my box was getting full
and I thought they were hoaxes.
