Lost Recovery Key but haven't lost password

Hi guys, I have a problem but no one else has the answer for some reason. when i try to access my encrypted portable media drive, it asks for a recovery key. Sadly, I lost the recovery key in a format but i always remember the password for it but it doesn't let me enter the password, only the recovery key. Can someone help please? Help is appreciated.
