A year ago, I upgraded my system from 98 to XP Home. My system has a sound
card that 98 recognized but when I moved to XP, my system isn't recognizing
the existing sound card. The sound card is still there but for some reason
the new operating system doesn't recognize it. I've lived with it but it's
really starting to bother me. Any ideas to get XP to recognize my sound card?

Scott;
Go to the web site of your sound card/computer manufacturer and get the
latest Windows XP sound drivers.

Could just be that your soundcard is not XP compatible.

Look inside your PC.
If the soundcard is fitted into a long (usually black) expansion slot then
it's an ISA bus sound card and is very unlikly to ever work with XP.

Replace with a PCI bus soundcard - It'll cost you from about a tenner
upwards.
Thes go into the shorter (usually white) expansion slots.
