Lost System Restore Point capability

I installed Media Player v10. Without noticing note from the system
that said if I continued the install I would loose the ability to use
System restore capability. I then uninstalled Media Player v10 but
the capability was not recovered.

Does anyone know how to fix this so I can get back to using System
Restore out of the Accessories menu?

I would prefer not to do a complete system image restore to get this
solved.
