i have already shut down and restarted my computer and that doesn't work. i
have also gone to my properties, the sound button is grayed out and i have
tried unlocking my notification bar, none of that works. i have also typed a
code into a white area after clicking on my start button but did not see
anything that the next step told me to do. and of course, i have also
clicked on the links that i have seen on the other posts that others have
asked, but my computer won't allow me to access those links. i don't know
what to do and i'm getting VERY upset. please help me if you can, i'm close
to crying!!!!!!!!!!! thanks.

if your computer doesnt allow you to access these links just type them,
right click the generated link and "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR"

if it doesnt disable the UAC
and type the links
and reenable the UAC
