Whither Microsoft?
Office 2007.
Vista.
IE8.
What has happened to Microsoft?
Microsoft user interfaces may not have been the best possible but they were
at least serviceable.
Now they are worse than I could ever imagine any company with the resources
of Microsoft producing.
Truly horrible and nearly unusable.

Seems funny how millions of people DO find them perfectly useable.
Maybe that says something about your application skills, or lack of them?

Typical response from an M$ apologist. Too busy sucking up to notice that
millions of users in fact DO NOT find things perfectly usable, or this group
wouldn't exist.

When something like printing a simple envelope goes from 1 or 2 steps
requiring seconds in Office 2003 to several steps taking minutes in Office
2007, this is NOT an improvement.

<sigh> - I also use Linux so I'm NOT an "M$ (whatever that is) apologist".
Remember - you ONLY see people here with questions or problems - you do NOT
see all the millions who have NO questions or problems. Just the same as you
only see people who are ill going to the doctor's - you do not see all the
millions who are perfectly healthy.

Umm on MY version of Word 2007, it's TWO clicks to print an envelope.
Mailings Tab-Envelopes.
And in fact you can add the Envelope icon to the QAT so it's only ONE CLICK.
Does 2003 do that? No it doesn't.

Also a reminder, you only see *a fraction of all people* with questions or
problems would come to here. You do NOT see ALL people with questions and
problems, and this newsgroup is like a star in the galaxy as far as for
support goes.

I fail to understand people, like you, really believe that this is the ONLY
support portal in the world, or is it a deliberately misleading statement?

Or that every person that has problems with Vista participates in ANY help
forum anywhere.

I'm sure many just put up with their problems because thet don't know of
any avanues where they could get help.

I know 2 such persons.

Vista is a new operating system. Vista is not an enhanced version of XP. In
order to navigate the Vista environment, users need to stop treating it like
XP. Unlike XP, some of Vista's features, such as UAC, are complicated and
reading a book or how to articles on how Vista operates is needed. Users who
point and click without knowing exactly how features function are the most
easily confused... and the most likely to complain.

Just like other products, people tend to turn to the nearest and easiest
source for assistance, and forums and newsgroups don't exactly fall into
that category.
