For the most part, my apps work on Vista .. even my old 1996 Corel
Web.Photopaint. My ArtRage. SmartFTP, IconWorkshop, MS Office, Editpad,
Quicktime, iTunes all work.
I listened to the rant and the first thing he mentions is screen capture ..
I've been using the Vista's snipping tool which does screen capture .. not
to mention Alt + Print Scrn which also works.
His new day one lap top had 80 processes running .. um .. that's not all
Vista. Get a clue. The computer's manufacturer has loaded a lot of their own
stuff onto the machine slowing down the start up and running of the machine.
I just bought a more humble laptop, an Acer, and it was loaded with "stuff"
way above and beyond Vista. So after a quick check of the Acer website for
the necessary drivers to run the laptop, I wiped the drive and installed
Vista generic. Much nicer.
And he goes on about Dragon Naturally .. but doesn't Vista come with Speech
Recognition?
And his mouse? Well's, all I can say if one smaller gadget doesn't work with
Vista that's not too bad. My Logitech Messenger Cam "officially" doesn't
work with Vista HOWEVER ..
...Anyway, I don't use it anymore as I've graduated to a SONY device for
that.
And the guy throws in complaints about XP when criticizing Vista. Maybe it
was a slips of the tongue but it makes for a crummy video.
He makes blanket statements that are not true such as "Everything is
incompatible with Vista". That is simply not true.
He doesn't seem to know what he is doing so, well, I'd give the video only 2
out of 5 stars.
