Walter, I suspect this is something in Windows Explorer that's always
been there but you just haven't hit the right combination of things to
see it in XP, it IS there thought, been there done that.
Investigate a Microsoft "Powertoy" called Synctoy and see if setting
that up to do the job in a repeatable and aitomated way would suit you
better, you can then set it going and go home for the evening
