Machine is malfunctioning

      11-21-2008
The machine will not go on line through Outlook Express. It has many errors
which I do not understand.This is an E machine and it tells me it has many
errorss. Should I get arepair or buy a new machine? This machine is 6 years
old.

What errors? How is this related to Windows Update (vs upgrading Windows)?

First of all, we need to know what errors you're getting. When's the last time
you did a clean install, if ever?

If you have an original XP disk or a System Restore disk, I'd back up my data
then do a clean install. Of course if your machine is six years old, you may
want to look at buying a newer one. Computers with more power than you
have now are quite affordable.
