Possibly you tried this hack?
Start-Run-Regedit
Navigate to the key below:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer
Add a new DWORD value named “MaximizeApps” Set the value to 1
If you have such a value, set it to 0 or delete it
