Well first, your analogy doesn't hold. Chicago Cubs FANS are like fanboys.
The Chicago Cubs themselves are simply the 'product'.
Chicago Cubs == Linux == Product
Cubs Fan == Linux Fan == Fanboy
The real kicker though, is any fan could be a fanboy, regardless of which
team they're rooting for, whether its the Chicago WhiteSox, the New York
Yankees, or the Boston Red Sox. Fanboys tend to be product agnostic in that
they exist for many many products.
As for the Cubs, sure they tend to choke, but in the end, they still ended
up playing longer than many of the other teams.
