I still cannot get the outlook to be the default for the mail client. I
have tried to repair Outlook to no avail. It still is not listed in the
default programs, but it is checked as the default in outlook. Everytime I
click on a "contact us" link in a browser I get the error code, and them 30+
error web pages come up.

Please help, this is very frustrating !!!!

Thanks

Got to Control Panel > Default Programs and Select Default Programs again.

Select Outlook and then select 'Set this program as default' and then press
OK.

Outlook is not listed there, as I mentioned. That was already one of the
first things I tried.

Try reinstalling Outlook then. I think you will get an option to 'repair'
when you try the installer again.

I have already run the Outlook repair to no avail.

Where is the outlook.pst file located in Vista ? I can't find it when I do
a search. I need to backup that file before re-installing the office
software. I can't afford to take a chance for that info to be lost or
damaged.

I think it should be in:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

...by default.

I cannot be sure, as I have my Outlook files on a separate RAID1 volume.

I also have the following issue related to Vista with office.

# KB884202
"You must accept the Office End User License Agreement every time that you
start an Office program"

I'm definitely not doing anything in the registry.

No luck, as there is no AppData file under my user name.

Why can't I find this outlook.pst file when I do a search ? In XP I found
it in two seconds doing a search

There is an AppData folder there. It's just hidden. Just replace USERNAME
with your username, and paste it into the address bar to get there, or
unhide hidden objects in Control Panel > Folder Options.
