Exchange server 2003 all pached and updated -

Our company owns another company - we are company1.com they are company2.com

here at company1.com we have a which is just an "alias"
and goes directly to bosses email which is

Now he would like to have a similar setup with the other company -
and he wants this to show up in his
mailbox.

I created a contact in AD (sales) and set the smtp address to
but it does not work. I send mail to
and get a bounce message from the server - user unknown.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Hi M.

You can receive mail in your exchange server for any email address you can
control the MX records, either by POP or SMTP. Once the MX point to the
server, you need to supply a user with that email address.

In ADUC, find the user, rclick, properties, exchange address tab, add the
address in question, smtp. Exchange will receive the mail, find that address,
and stick the incoming into that mail box. The "default" address, the one
in bold, is the "reply to" address, and you can change it there. If you
do, untick the box to use the default policy or it will snap back.

If you need to be able to choose the reply address depending on what message
is being replied to, search the web for things like multiple reply addresses
or post back here.

Hello,

Thanks for your post and Larry's input.

I agree with Larry that you can establish additional recipient policies. Here, I just add a link related to create multiple recipient policies.

Configuring Exchange to receive mail for multiple domains

Hope it helps.
