Mailbox Quotas

Customer has SBS2003. I removed mailbox quotas, at the mailstore level
and also for a specific user. He was still not able to send or receive.
How long should it normally take before this takes effect, should it be
instantanious or is there a system task that needs to run first ?
Thanks
Simon

Should be immediate. Even if it was at the mailbox level, if you go into the
user's account properties and uncheck to use Store Limits, it should be
immediate. You didn't have to change it at the Store level.

Are there any errors on the workstation or server side? If so, pos the
EventID# in the event logs, please.

Actually, while yes, it *should* be immediate in my view, but it ain't. Even
in a single server environment it can take several hours for this change to
be reflected everywhere. You can restart the System Attendant if you must
hurry it up. Users in cached mode won't notice.

Good point. :-) Immediate is not necessarily immediate, like going to a
doctor's office and waiting for 2 hours past your appt time. :-)

Good to hear. Post back if you it didn't work, or if you have any additional
questions.

Cool. You can check the status in ESM in the Mailboxes view ...just add the
additional column for storage limits, and it will show you who's over.

Thanks LW good tip. It shows no checking on the user (the MD) so I
presume he's not subject to quotas now

Cheers!
