Hello,
My father is 72 years old and bought a new computer. He
only has a modem link and so Windows Update is too slow to
keep his new computer up to date. Of course, the first
time he connected to the internet, he was immediately hit
by the Sasser virus.
I have a broadband connection on my system and would like
to create a CD of the critical fixes and send it to him
(he lives in the UK and I live in France). Can anyone tell
me how I can do this ? I'd really appreciate your help, as
I would like to be able to help him!
Thanks in advance.
David

First, he needs to enable/install a firewall:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=283673
The firewall would have protected him from Sasser.

See #1 on this link for some options for your question:

Jupiter,
That's great information for the CD. I'll look at it
tonight. For the firewall, it's the first thing I've put
on the CD for him (Sygate Personal) along with Avast
antivirus and the avast virus killing tool.
Thank you again : I'll be sure and let you know how I get
along (I'll finish up convincing him to get broadband, I
just know it).
