Use EasyBCD to delete the XP setup entry on the Boot manager.

EasyBCD by NeoSmart Technologies would be your answer, it provides a
graphical front end to the BCDEdit Command line that makes it easy for you
to define start-up settings and edit boot entries on the new Windows boot
manager.

I just performed an upgrade of my operating system from xp to vista. Now,
every time I start the computer, I get a black screen asking me if I want to
run xp, vista or an earlier version of windows. How can I make vista the
primary os? Thanks.

Hello Dona,

This free program can fix things for you
http://www.vistabootpro.org/

If you dont have XP anymore you can remove that entry of XP thus Vista will
boot directly
OR if you have XP and you want to make Vista the primary OS again there is a
setting there.

It is unclear what you are trying to fix. There is no problem at all. DO NOT
TRY TO FIX ANYTHING. That malicious noninflammable character is here to
create trouble for the inexperienced.

This is a Normal behavior. What if you decided tomorrow to use your XP?

Every person who has two or three partitions has this MS Boot Management
message on the screen.

Your Vista is PRIMARY, go to sleep assured it is the case.

Raise your finger and push Carriage Return. It will help. Some expect MS to
wipe their behinds and crooks like noninflammable are taking advantage of
them.

Forget it. Nobody needs your easyBCD. It is not an issue here. She does not
understand that this is NORMAL behavior.

Cancel easyBCD, Donna, ask for your money back.

Hi Donna

This will show you how to select the default OS to boot into. Yo
might lower the wait time to display the OS list to help some to

Thanks Shawn. This is what I needed to know. It's one of those things that
would be nice to have Microsoft put in installation instructions so I
wouldn't waste so much time worrying about it. I don't remember ever seeing
this screen when I upgraded from ME to XP.

You may thank him but the correct answer was given by me..

if you upgraded that means you no longer have XP and should remove the entry
as I said.

If you thought you upgraded but have a dual boot then your pc is mixed up..
lol
