malicious software removal tool - how would i know if it runs?

      01-13-2005
automatic update downloaded the update. microsoft said that a eula is suppose
to be present after the download but i didnt receive one. so im wondering how
would i know if its running. i didnt get an error message or anythin. just
want to make sure that its runnin. thank you.

It doesn't run resident - or install anything. If you didn't see a report
that it found the files/infections it was looking for, you're probably OK.
Of course, you *do* have a good firewall, run WU regularly, run good,
updated antivirus software you update regularly, and practice safe hex,
right?

If installed via Windows Update, the tool runs in silent mode.
Locate the file named MRT.LOG in the ..\Windows\Debug folder.
This file has the report of the scan.
