Malicious software tool - Auto update

Every month, Automatic update goes nuts with this Malicious Software removal
tool.
It installs it, then 2 minutes later it wants to install again, again, and
again....
I shut down, and I start up the next day and there it is ready to install
again. I do a custom install and when it's done it says the install was
complete. I close the window and few minutes later the update icon is in the
task bar. I located the mrt.exe file and ran it. It's from Apr 2006. I went
directly to the website and downloaded the tool, with the same results. How
can I correct this problem.

I am having the same problem as Mike F is having ! I have updated this update
10 times in two days . The icon never leaves from my tray? What is the
solution to this update problem ?! ( update KB936181 )

I solve my problem, I located and rename mrt.exe to mrt.old. Thats the file
that gets downloaded every month. I found it in windows\system32 folder. I
