Managing Updates to non-Microsoft software

This is really a Windows desktop question, but his seemed like a good
place to start. I while ago I saw a utility that allowed you to
manage software updates on a Windows PC. I would automatically
download and install updates to things Acrobat, Flash, Java, and such
without any user interaction. (No annoying prompts.)

Now I can’t find this utility on the web. Does anybody know of
software that will manage automatic updates like this? Was it all a
dream?

Thanks,
John
