Hello

I am the owner & only user of my pc. I have 2 logon names, 'Comp_Admin'
(with administrator access) and 'My_Name' ( a standard user ). No problems
so far.

If I need to log on as Comp_Admin (eg to install new software) I see an
entirely different desktop, I cannot get at the various files, folders,
shortcuts that I have set up under 'My_Name'. I understand why this is, but
I find that I sometimes do need to get at those files. Ideally I would like
the Comp_Admin desktop, documents etc, to be an exact copy of those in
'My_Name'.

Can this be done, ?

Thanks

KK

why not just use your regular user account and occasionally run admin task
from that account using admin privilege?

you don't install new programs that often , do you?

for example, you inserted a CD/DVD to install
click start, type in d:\thenewAppSetup.exe and right click on the found
item and choose to run as administrator

example two:
start menu, type in computer management, and right click on the desired
found result, choose to run as administrator

the only pitfall with the above is if your pc is infected with some sort of
keystroke monitoring malware, you may be giving away the admin acct and
password

BTW
it's best not to do any regular task as administrator, including opening up
user doc., email, websurfing

You need to activate the account whose *name* is Administrator if you want
to see everything.
