Manual Driver Installation

I have noticed a difference in behavior between trying to install a driver
using the inf file located in the winnt\inf folder verses an inf file
located in any other folder where I have expanded the driver files. It seems
if I copy the inf file from the expand folder to the winnt\INF folder, and
try installing it, Vista spends far more time reading the file and comes up
with more choices. Any reason for this behavior?

Because Vista is reading all of the INF files in the folder, not just the
one.
