Manual Uninstall of WSUS 3.0

I don't seem to be able to install or uninstall WSUS 3.0. I get errors each
way I go. If I try to uninstall, I get a message that says, "Command-line
parameter is invalid." I've tried the Windows MSI cleanup utility and
nothing. The only thing I can think to do is a complete manual uninstall.
Is there a procedure for this?

Please Help.

Right pew, wrong church. Forwarded to WSUS newsgroup
(microsoft.public.windows.server.update_services) via crosspost as a
convenience to OP.

On the web:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...pdate_services

In your newsreader:

Thank you. I knew it was the wrong place, but I couldn't find the right place.

And what "command line" are you using to perform the uninstall?

"Nothing" meaning.... what?

I'm not aware of any "formal" procedure for a "complete manual uninstall"
(except for uninstalling the Windows Internal Database, which is documented
in Appendix A of the WSUS Operations Guide:

To uninstall Windows Internal Database

1. Open a command shell.

2. Call msiexec with the correct key for the operating system platform.
• On 32-bit platforms: msiexec /x {CEB5780F-1A70-44A9-850F-DE6C4F6AA8FB}
callerid=ocsetup.exe
• On 64-bit platforms: msiexec /x {BDD79957-5801-4A2D-B09E-852E7FA64D01}
callerid=ocsetup.exe

But the following simple steps should provide you with a clean enough
environment to retry the installation.

1. Remove the registry key at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Update Services\Server

2. Archive the contents of %ProgramFiles%\Update Services\Logfiles until you
have a successful installation.

3. Remove the %ProgramFiles%\Update Services folder.

4. Remove the WIndows Internal Database if you have reason to believe it may
be contributing to your installation issues.

5. If you removed WID, also remove the SUSDB.mdf and SUSDB_log.ldf files,
which should be located in %windir%\SYSMSI\SSEE

6. Reboot.

7. Restart the WSUS installer.
