Hi,

Have a customer who's backup won;t currently fit onto their tape drive so
they've reverted to using NT backup instead of SBS2003 backup because they
couldn;t exclude the C:\ drive.

They're only interested in backing up their users files at this moment in
time until they replace the drive with a bigger one.

Is there any way that the SBS2003 backup script can be manually edited to
exclude the C:\ drive ?

Is it just a case of locating it and editing it ?

Jim.

Of course, it's important to do 'full' backups. If any of the workstations
has a hard drive with a large enough capacity to hold a full SBS server
backup, create a share on that workstation and re-run the SBS Backup Wizard
to direct the (FULL) backup to it until the server hard drive can be
replaced. For offsite storage of the user files, set up a separately
scheduled NTbackup job on the server to backup those files to the tape drive
(again until the server drive is replaced).

You can save backup files to a network share when you use the Backup or
Restore Wizard to back up your server in Small Business Server 2003
