Manually Install Patch Showing Not Installed In WSUS

I had a SQL patch that needed to be applied to the WSUS clients, but a 3rd
party application needed to be "adjusted" by the vendor first, so I wanted to
apply it manually. I was able to write a batch file with silent switches
that made the adjustments and applied the patch. The patch shows up in
Add/Remove, but it says that it is not installed according to the WSUS. Do I
need to approve the patch after I install it to update WSUS?

Right pew, wrong church. Forwarded to WSUS newsgroup
(microsoft.public.windows.server.update_services) via crosspost as a
convenience to OP.

On the web:

In your newsreader:
