When I go to a folder and do a right mouse click and go to properties it
will show me the number of files I have but not the number of subfolders.
How can I find out how many subfolders I have?

The date and time was Tuesday, April 07, 2009 8:40:20 AM, and on a whim,

Hi Richard,

Use the command prompt. Navigate to the parent folder and type dir. At
the end you will see a number of files and number of directories.

Here is a site describing how to use the very handy Powertoy "Command
Prompt Here" within Vista (not the powertoy itself, but the function).

This is not what happens on my Vista Home Premium 64. I get what you want,
so there must be something wrong on your system. Something pretty
mysterious, unfortunately.

Well, mysterious to me, anyway. I looked at Explorer settings and couldn't
see anything relevant, and I have no idea what to look for in the
registry...

Works OK on Home Premium 32 also. Right click, Properties, "xx files,
yy folders"

You may find that at a command prompt the command, "dir /ad" lists
directories, not files.
