How many more builds of Vista will there be before the final release? Will
the April CTP be the only public release or will they all be public from
that point on? Thanks.

It was said somewhere that after the April CTP there will be CTPs until RTM.
Question is, when is RTM? Also, the availability to the public is not known
at this time.

Yeh I got that one too... I'm just not sure whether they will be referring
to the release in April as the "Beta 2 Release" or the "April CTP"... but my
guesses on being "Beta 2" because that shows more of a developmental
milestone in their "creation".

Actually, the April CTP is beta 2, but it won't be designated that since
milestone builds are now faded out. But the April CTP will be the Official
BETA 2 that is of a higher quality than past CTPs.

Ahh gotcha. I still reckon they should have put the CTP versions in the
watermark on the desktop... would make a lot more sense than it being "Beta
2" when it's actually not p The amount of people who have *protested* they
had the "real" Beta 2 build eh Andre? Hehe.

BETA 2 for Enterprise customers.

The builds continue until the product reaches a very stable stage, they call
them RC0, RC1, Rc. and then RTM.

The builds does not stop on RTM, since there is always a long list of issues
that may never occur, then you have patches, and hot fixes, and every once
in a while, you have a service pack, which is something like a build, but
for specific files only.

In other words, the build never ends, about when Vista will be ready, it is
totally a different story, I guess in October :-)

As longer it is delayed, as better it becomes, and higher quality too I
guess.
