How many times should I install KB892944? :(

Few days ago Windows Updated asked me to download and install KB892944. I
did. Download was successfull, install too. Few days after it asked me again
to install it. Surprised, I did. Everything was OK. But few minutes ago, it
asked me again to install it. Same result. The same occured yesterday and
today and, even if I asked Windows Update not to warn me any more about THAT
patch, here is again! What's happening? Here is the log from Windows Update
site. It looks like I installed the SAME patch SIX TIMES and still it is not
happy! What's wrong?

I have the same problem in my W2k sp4 home computer. Since I use Office XP's
Outlook instead of Windows bundled Outlook Express I have de-installed the
OE. However, Windows update repeates to prompt me to install update KB823353
for OE and each time the installation is claimed successful. Only after a
minute or so the update logo is there again claiming a new installation..
again and again. The update history is like yours.

Hi,

If you have the security update KB897715 (MS05-030) installed,
it could be caused by that.

Temporarily uninstall KB897715 (from Add/Remove Programs), and see if
KB823353 (MS04-018) installs successfully. Then install KB897715 again.
