Hi. We are just about to migrate from SBS 2003 Std to SBS 2011 Std.
Our 2003 server has Mapilabs Rules for Exchange installed, but I've
just looked up their website and I see that it does not support
Exchange 2007 or 2010: 2003 is the latest. I'm assuming this is
because the later version of Exchange have the funcitonality built-in,
so I'm hoping you can tell me if that is so and how to use it.
We use Mapilabs for this purpose: whenever any email is sent/received
between us and one of our clients, a copy is put in a MailArchive
mailbox, in a designated folder. For example, if we have clients Foo,
Bar & Baz, then the MailArchive folder looks like:
Inbox
|-Foo
|-Bar
|-Baz
If a mail comes in from
to
then
jimbob will get it as normal, but a copy will be put into MailArchive
\Inbox\Foo, and when jimbob replies that mail too will go in to the
same folder. The rules we have set up monitor the from/to address,
then the subject, then the message body.
Originally we used Outlooks built-in Rules feature (with exchange set
to duplicate any messages into the MailArchive user, and the rules set
in that user account), but the number of rules involved was more than
Outlook could handle, and were also incredibly unweildy. Mapilabs
could handle any number of rules, and could import/export to xml: we
have a script to generate this xml from a simple, user-editable
rules.txt file.
So: does exchange 2010 support something like this feature? If not,
does anyone have a recommendation for similar software that does work
with 2010?
Thanks,
Iain
