Recently I've noticed a decline in the updates applied to my network
infrastructure. As a result I took a look at the synchronization log file and
noticed the following statements:

The 'mastersus' named above is a master server for which my SUS server is a
slave server. They approve updates, I just use them on my network.
Looking into this error I found the following document
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;830700 which I
applied to the server. Since this did not seem to help, I restarted the SUS
service, and even restarted the whole server, but all to no avail. The error
remains.
As such I've been looking into the possible causes and found out that around
the time the updates started failing the mastersus-server (which is beyond my
control) has appearantly been updated to WSUS.
The question now is: Does SUS indeed have issues replicating from a WSUS
machine?
If that is the case I'm faced with a likely upgrade of SUS to WSUS, for
which I would need to gather information on the perils and the pitfals.
Seeing the amount of work I currently have this is not really an appealing
thought. I know the SUS infrastructure works, I am not sure a WSUS (seeing
the clients would seem to require some Automatic Updates client installed,
which I'd need to check for) would work in my environment right off the bat.
Does anyone have information or thoughts about this, and cares to share
them? Thanks in advance for any and all replies.
