Maximising Windows Problem....

I'm using Vista Ultimate and I've got no real problems with the OS itself -
however, I have an irritating problem with keeping windows maximised. Having
stretched out the window to the size I want it (fullscreen) by moving it to
the top left hand corner and then dragging it using the Size option I close
the window and then re-open it... Sometimes it stays the same size but
mostly it resizes back to it's original size..

What am I doing wrong ?

This is getting REALLY annoying.

Hi Steven,

You will need to reset the folder view settings. This will allow Vista
to remember your settings again for when the window was last closed.
You can see how to do it in Method Two of this tutorial. The download
is the easiest way.

Thanks for your prompt answer, but I've already had a look at this page and
followed the instructions therein, however, my explorer, control panel,
recycle bin windows still will not stay at the size they are supposed to be
at.

Currently I'm scanning my PC for viruses, spyware etc. etc.

try this goto control panel > folder options then click the view tab and
scroll down to remember each folders view setting not sure if it will work
for everything though

Steven,

After you reset the folder view settings, you should be able to have
these windows open with the size you want. You will need to open the
window. Size it the way you want it and close the window. When you
reopen it, it will open the same way it was last closed. Vista will
only remember how to open a window the same way it was when it was last
closed.

Thanks for the replies..

I found a couple of bits of spyware on my PC - I've removed them rebooted,
resized the windows to how I want them and touch wood, so far, so good.

If the problem reoccurs and they start to play up again, I'll report back..

Thanks again
