i am sure whatever major problem MS is experiencing with MS Updates is well
know by someone and those in know; but how about us poor End User Consumers?

obviously I am Not the only one having trouble with the last 12-item High
Priority security package.

can't MS simple let its users know via the MS Update site or by some needs
that there is a problem: that MS is working on it; that the security updates
will be delayed; that nobody likes that but ever one does understand the
things happen; sometimes one encounters problems in life?

but from what i have seen to date, Friday, 11:00 CDT in the USA there is no
word from MS.

even the MVP's don't appear to know or want to say what is going on. again,
no problem. everyone can understand that. yet some MVP's have actually
engaged by correcting mis-placed posts about this issue as if that changes
any thing.

come on MS folks; tell US what is going on.
IF, for some reason there IS a Problem, as in a real PROBLEM; then tell us?
Let each user be informed and make one's own decision about how to re-act to
the matter.
Do you think we are going to leave you?
PLEaSE ...

What problem is it that they should make us aware of? Out of almost 50
machines being updated here, all were flawless.

Something you should know.....
This and other newsgroups are NOT Microsoft. People show up here to help
others with computer problems, strictly in volunteer basis.
None of us works for Microsoft either.
If you wish to voice your displeasure to Microsoft, do this ....
Menu Bar at the top, click HELP > click Send feedback. Now you can tell
them how you feel.

It's not obvious to me at all. I updated all the machines at work and my
home
machines with no problems. Nor have I seen messages from users
(except you, of course) who had a problem with it.

No one here represents or works for Microsoft. You may gain the attention
of an MS engineer if you post here:

Or see the "How to obtain help" section of

A number of people have described this failure to update this one critical
security fix. Only after spending several hours trying unsuccessfully to
resolve this problem on my two computers did I resort to this forum. And, I
agree that there are many more who are battling the problem but who have yet
to raise their heads and say, "What's up, MS?" So, now I'm off to contact MS
support and see what help they may be.

SUCCESS! Following the suggestion of someone on another thread, I uninstalled
dot net version 1.1, shut down, rebooted, then went back to the Microsoft
Update
update page. After it scanned, it showed no critical updates (not even
KB953297) but, under optionl software, showed dot net version 1.1. So, I
installed it and rebooted again. Back to Microsoft Update and it, again,
showed KB953297 as a critical udate. I directed its installation and this
time it installed correctly. Hope this helps others.

MVP's are a complete waste of time. If you need any help then you need
to post the question generally and to specifically request MVPs not to
bother with it. If you don't, you will get Pig-Bear who will abuse you
or question your authenticity. To him you are a dodgy character using a
dodgy software unless you prove otherwise.

Harsh comment to whomever you are.

If you are referring to the .net issues.... it's STUPID .NET
and there's nothing that all of us volunteers can do.

The best advice I can give is to google on Aaron Stebner's .net removal
tool and reinstall.

We don't code this stuff, we just try to help folks.
