MBSA 2.0 hangs after installing MS05-051

After installing M05-051 (902400) the MBSA2.0 hangs while checking for
security updates. It should be noted that the Caveat described in this
article does indeed apply. We have modified the default security and did
follow the instructions http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909444 to grant
access to the %windir5\registration folder.
We have determined the following:
1: MBSA 1.2 continues to function
2: MBSA 2.0 successfully completes All Options EXCEPT ‘Check for Security
Update� regardless of which advance options are selected. The progress bar
stops. No error's are logged in the event viewer.
3: MBSA 2.0 has been un-install/re-installed without success

Is there a specific security permission that needs to be modified for MBSA
2.0 to now function after installing MS05-051 for customers that have non
default acl settings?
