Online Spotlight displays in menu, selecting it does nothing but blink the
screen. It used to work. I've tried all suggestions provided in this
discussion group, IE language setting US eng, and searched greenbutton, msdn.
I'm not the only one with this problem, but no one is able to find soultion.
How about now? I've tried searching everywhere, and various fixes on my
own, no luck.

When did it start?
Are you using IE 8?
Open Program Data\Microsoft\eHome\Packages\MCESpotlight directory.Do you see
any files there?

You might try reseting IE8. And clearing the IE cache.

To clear the cache:
Open IE8, Tools >Internet Options.On the General tab.At Browsing
history, click Delete button, then check the items you want to delete,
(You should delete Temporary Internet files and Cookies).

Open IE8, Tools > Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab.
At the bottom of the screen you will see two buttons.
Restore Advanced Settings and Reset (IE to default settings).

Click each button once. Then close IE8.

Open IE8 and see if your problem is now gone.

He ment to go to application data.
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\*USERNAME*\Application Data\Microsoft\eHome

Application Data is a hidden folder so you need to enable hidden folders.
in any windows explorer window go to
tools>folderoptions>View> show hidden files

Does this information tell you anything, what's the next step?
Still here trying to fix this thing.

Also for the record, I noticed someone else saying that they removed SP3 then
re-installed it. Fixed there problem. However, I have tried to remove SP3,
but could not. Seemed to mess up the system, had to do a restore.
