MDAC upgrade ???

My Home PC with Windows XP has the MDAC 2.1 and I am having problems with
Microsoft Streets. One of the fixes is to update the MDAC. The most recent
version is 2.8. My question is, will the update create a problem with any
other programs, etc. Other than Streets, I am having no other problems.

microsoft updates usually cause 8 problems for every 1 they fix... thats
the standard they shoot for

A default install of Windows XP has MDAC version 2.7 If you have installed
service pack two for Windows XP then you now have MDAC 2.8 SP1

Dave, I have SP2 but when I check the version in properties it shows 2.1.
