I have a dial up connection and I need to update several older computers.
Rather than connecting each to the internet and downloading all the patches
and security updates for each computer - a process likely to take about 15
hours per unit - I would like to simply download all the the files at once
and then burn them to a CD. This way I can simply install them at my leisure
and I also have them for future reference in case I ever need to re-install.

As MS is no longer supporting ME, does anybody know if it is possible (and
where) to get all the patches and updates related to ME in some form of
executable file(s) rather than the download and auto-install form that used
to be available?

You can download individual updates from the Catalog and save to be installed later.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...en/default.asp

Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what you want, Click
the “Go To Download Basket” link. Type in or browse to the location where you want the
updates saved to and then Click the “Download Now” button.
Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD.

How to download updates and drivers from the Windows Update Catalog or from the Microsoft
Update Catalog
