Probably a dumb question but I gotta ask. Is there any mechanism via
Microsoft for replacing a Vista license with an XP license, something
that only incurs a minor cost?

thanks

Apparently some of the computer manufacturers, Dell, etc, will offer you a
downgrade if you bought a brand new comp off them, and are not happy with
vista.

Other than that, NO.

No, there isn't, sorry. If you want to use XP instead of Vista, you'd have
to purchase a XP license.

If you have ultimate or business you can downgrade to XP Pro. You must
however already have an XP install disc (not pirated).

Wipe vista, install XP. When it asks to activate, use phone option.

They will verify that you have a legitimate copy of XP and Vista.
