Has anyone experienced a degrading of performance due to the Group Policy
command gpedit.msc?
My computer since I bought it in Jan. 2007 has crashed on average everytime
I have to do the Group Policy, every week to week and 1/2. When I open
gpedit.msc, the path is wrong to start with (obviously I'm not on my
computer), it starts like %windir%\security\scedit.??? It's the old Group
Policy command. So after I go in there and do the Local User Rights and
Security thingie, things start not lettin me have access and when I do try to
take access, it's not automatic. In other words it's supposed automatically
change the main folder, and all the other folders inside it (like System32)
and files, but that has never happened. So i'm thinking that this version
has quite a few bugs still in it, here two years later. Also, things start
disappearing, like Windows Installer, Network Adapters, Update, and something
else. And then eventually I wind up locked out of the desktop and have to do
a boot recovery. Help! This has been going on for so long!
Thanks!

Sounds to me that your gpedit.msc is a piece of malware, rather than a
helpfull software.

Have you scanned your computer with the latest malware scanner?
There are several good ones online for free.

Just search for "virus scanner" without quotes.

Thank you but I just did that! However it's ok for you to remind me what a
pain malware is!
