Media Center Won't Start

I'm Using the 64 bit version of Vista Home Premium. Yesterday I moved
the recordings of the Lost final to my backup drive (And deleted them
from Users/Public/Recorded TV.) Today I tried to run Media Center and
I get a meaningless message to the effect that Windows found an error
and had to close the program. I then get a message to make sure I
have all Windows Updates (I have them). If I click on a recorded
program Media Center starts to open - and then I get the same messages.
I've copied the recorded program back to its original directory and
that has no effect. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd just as soon
NOT have to reinstall Vista.

did you go into tasks, settings, tv, recorder storage and specify the new
location of recorded tv or did you just move through windows explorer?

I moved it through Explorer. Right now Media Center won't open to let
me get to tasks - or anything (although if I try click on the recorded
program it tries to open.)

This is for anyone else who may have the same problem I had.

First, I've found that I should have characterized the program as
crashing - It just happened so fast I thought it didn't start.
Second, I renamed the file
%programData%\microsoft\ehome\mediacenterdatastore .db to be anything
else
Third, things SEEM to be working. But stay tuned. If it doesn't I'll
be back.
