When I open up Windows media centre and go to my picture library, media
centre closes down. I get the standard message that Media Centre has stopped
working and would I like to check for a solution. The solution is never
forthcoming and the programme closes down every time.
Does anyone else have this problem or know of solution,. I have Vista Home
premium

Ive had many numerous problems with the media player on Vista...I have
decided to just not even use the thing anymore...right now I cant even
open up any of my desktop shortcuts!!!! I click em and nothing
happens?!?! I think Vista is actually fighting my media player i
installed to use instead of windows media player. Its one of the most
major players out there called Rhapsody annd what do you know...Vista
has problems with it...XP never had a single one...what's going on
here?? Why cant the problem be immediately delt with and an update
fixing the problem be issued? Anyone else having problems with Rhapsody?
It shuts down and screws up my Desktop icons! i dont understand it at
all.

Anyone??? Please?!?

I had to completely log out of Vista and log back in. Nothing I clicked
on including my restart buttons would work...but everything I already
had up such as internet browser and other programs worked I just could
not bring up a new page on the browser but the existing tabs that were
open worked...whats that all about...a partial freeze???? This has
happened a couple of times when I come out of hybernation.

shaunC:
If you're having problems with Media Player (not Media Center), please try a
couple of things:
1) If you run Windows Media Player (WMP), as an administrator, that is,
right-click on the icon and choose that option, does it now work normally?
2) open your IE7 browser. Does it correctly display PNGs (PNG is an image
file format)? Go to the following page; all the selections down the left
side of the page are PNGs:
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/com...s/default.mspx
If you get red Xs the browser can't display PNGs properly. Run IE7 as
administrator; does it then work?

If you have these problems, and the things I suggested work to alleviate
them, then welcome to the club that's not very picky about it's membership;
many, many folks have this problem with Vista on their systems.

Read the following threads and post your ongoing comments/questions there.
The longer the one thread gets (the 1st one shown), the more likely something
will happen to create a fix.

If this isn't the problem you're having, then I apologize for making you
read all this.
Glenn: sorry I didn't address your issue. I don't know what's going on
with Media Center on your PC.

Let this forum know if this helps or if you figure out the problem, so
others can benefit. As far as I know the "notify me of replies"
does not work, so do not count on this feature.

Can you seperately look at the pictures that are supposed to be in your
library? If so, can you try to create a new library?

Yes, please do follow up there. I'll try to ask various questions there so
that more data can be gleaned as we move along. I would *love* to be able
to reproduce this issue on one of my systems : that would greatly speed up
time to resolution. =\
