MEDIA PLAYER 9. since i updated to this media player wont play any downloaded music can i uninstall this programme and reinstall an earlier version

You can do but that will not solve your problem. Media Player 9 does work
OK so there appears to be something amiss with your system that you should
fix. Have you tried to remove and reinstall MP9?
